Parliament

He further added that the best way to maintain a healthy Parliamentary System is to recognize its vital factors. Firstly, we must raise the level and quality of debate in the legislatures and secondly we must develop a greater awareness of the need to utilize the time in the Parliament in a more rational and sensible manner.

Shri Chavan also mooted the idea of an orientation programme for the Members of Parliament on specific emerging issues such as climate change, Political Governance, RTI, Indo-Pak relations etc. He proposed that this orientation programme could be held at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy at Mussorie under the aegis of Department of Personnel and Training.
